My wife and I visited the Bull with friends for lunch. The pub used to serve fantastic food at not over the top prices. The last few times I have visited the establishment (the latter being the final chance for reconciliation), I have frankly been very disappointed. On the last visit we ordered our meals, were served a plate with napkin, butter and cutlery and eagerly waited for bread to be served, none came despite mentioning to the waitress several times. I ordered a 'safe bet' of steak and Ale pie with 'Bull fries'. For nigh on £10 I expected to at least have a salad garnish with my pie, which was shallow, tasteless and burnt on the crust. My 'Bull fries' was a small ramekin of soggy chips. My wife and friend ordered another 'safe bet', chilli concarne and received a sparse portion, the menu said with tortilla chips and sour cream, after much waiting a miniscule ramekin of tortilla chips arrived (to share!) and some ordinary cream was brought to the table. Complaints about the cream got it removed and replaced with the same cream but with vinegar and salt and pepper added! For god's sake if you don't have the listed food either don't have it on the menu or just tell us, we wouldn't have minded but please, don't try and fool people into putting rubbish into their mouths and paying extortionate prices for POOR food POORLY served. Still no bread!
