Many Fetes were cancelled last year because of the dreadful wet weather we all experienced through the Summer.
Our local fete was cancelled and as we drove home, we saw Tandridge Village Fete was running - they had hastily moved the whole event to a series of connecting buildings so everyone was dry. It was incredible, there was so much going on that we stayed right to the end - the children were happy making craft things and we were entertained whilst we filled up on the Real Ale and great burgers - none of which were expensive. No wonder The Times gave them a mention - the organisers deserve every praise.

I went to last year's fete after seeing it written up in The Times Weekend supplement. I can see why it was so highly rated - the Terrier Racing was fun to watch and my boys loved the slippery pole fights. I understand it's been going for years and it was a very relaxing Saturday afternoon - all being well we've noted it in our diary for this year.
