JILL LOCKYER writes "A major event in the pigeon fancier's calendar. More important than the show itself is the chance to meet friends from all over the country to talk pigeons. The show is good with lots of stands and bargains to be had. The venue is a little difficult as the Winter Gardens are like a maze and there are lots of stairs. Comfortable shoes are a must, together with layers of clothes as it always gets hot inside and it is nearly always freezing cold outside! Blackpool makes the fanciers extremely welcome and there are hotels to suit every pocket. Some very good, some good and some truly awful! Well worth doing some research before you book up. Taxis are reasonably cheap as are restaurants and the price of a pint. Lots of places to eat and lots of take away outlets. The pigeon auctions at the hotels are well worth visiting too, if only to marvel at the amounts that some birds fetch. A great weekend and I wouldn't miss it for the world"
