Best rates for a Local Hotel

We were so pleased to come across this little gem of a hotel. The staff were delightful, as were the owners, and the location is simply stunning - right on the sea front with views miles along the coast, and only a short level walk from the town and train station. We stayed in the Bay View Suite - very comfortable with proper sash windows, distressed style white furniture (including four-poster king-size bed) and a good-size plasma tv mounted on the wall in front of the two-seater sofa and coffee table. The bathroom was fitted to a high spec with wall mounted power-shower above the very long spa-bath. The room was very clean, bright and fresh. There was plenty of storage space with a large wardrobe and chest of drawers, plus bedside tables and two table-style units. Despite the fact that there is a road outside and several pubs close by we did not hear any noise at night The hotel itself is in good order; I would say that a large amount of money has been spent in the last few years. The bar area is very welcoming, and the terrace was perfect for an evening drink as the sun went down over the sea. The bar prices were extremely reasonable. Breakfast was included in our rate and was large - full English, plus help-yourself cereals, juices, dried fruit and yoghurt and as much toast as you want. The coffee was freshly brewed and the waitresses were cheerful. The restaurant area (which is also used as the breakfast room) is in the cellar, but does not feel claustrophobic. We did not eat dinner in the hotel, but did notice a fair wine-list. The staff are all fairly young but seem to be trained to a high standard - they were unfailingly polite and smiley, and seemed genuinely interested in our views of the town and locality. There was a good cross-section of people staying at the hotel - younger couples (like us), retirees, a family with three small children and a couple of lone travellers. If I could change anything I would suggest that bathrobes be supplied with the suite. If you are bringing your car spaces are limited, but there is a large public car park nearby. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends. The owners deserve to be proud of this elegant building and the wonderful staff that they employ. We hope to return soon!
