Good Points: bright airy room with lovely view over the garden - very relaxing. The continental breakfast was very good. Bad Points: The shower was adequate but the water pressure was not great and the tempreture seemed to fluctuate. General review: Very good value for money.Lovely old building and gardens. Would definately recommend this hotel.

Room was good, en-suite clean, but the breakfast, oh dear. Had to send toast back to get toasted properly but still came back half-done. Catering really needs to be looked at and more recent reviews suggest this hasn't been done. That said, would still use it again.

myself and my partner stayed in the four poster suite at hedgefield house and were really impressed. very spacious with huge bathroom, double size bath ,shower dressing room etc.nice friendly staff, very warm and welcoming and although it wasnt a cooked breakfast it was very filling and more than adeqate.there are a couple of nice places for a meal within walking distance but also lots of busses run past the hotel so great for getting further afield.all in all i was really pleased and would definatly return here.

You can't tell from the road but this is a very attractive place to stay. It is a lovely house with beautiful gardens and the owners are most helpful. The spacious rooms are very comfortable and furnished imaginatively in a mixture of traditional and contemporary. I thoroughly recommend it.

+ves: Beautiful house and gardens, high standards of cleanliness, decent modern furnishing, spacious, rooms well heated, good location. Small Gym, Good value. -ves: Bathroom had no extractor & was semi-private with frosted glass door directly in front of toilet. Owner runs another business which means guests are woken at 5.00AM with diesel truck. No bar, no cooked breakfast available. Most important perhaps of all, no friendliness, welcoming feeling or warmth shown by staff and owner, felt a bit like a Buddhist retreat.
