My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Kings House Restaurant. Superb hospitality from the front of house and wonderful meal and wine to go with it. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and included in the price of main course unlike other similar high quality establishments that we've visited previously. We opted for the Summer Menu which was incredibly well priced: £15 for two courses and £19 for three. My husband had the mediterranean herb crusted cod (which he said was outstanding) and I had the ratatouille tartlet. Lots of other items to choose from a la carte and all sounded yummy! Complimentary canapes to start (olives, salsa and prawn crackers, coated cashews), and wonderful home made petits fours to finish with our espressos. Can't recommend it highly enough. Was well worth the 45 minute drive to get there.

I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable or so unwelcome. After walking through the door with my 11 week old grandson (fast asleep in his pram) a woman commented on the pushchair wheels being on the carpet! It was perfectly clean! After paying and going to leave my son-in-law overheard 2 members of staff commenting on how we had to be sat where we were because we had a sprog, and that they didn't know what was worse, sprogs or dogs!
