Good Points: Location for walking distance to the city centre and on site parking Bad Points: Poor greeting on arrival. Room and ensuite needed a really good clean! Tired decor and grubby carpet. Had we read the previous reviews by guests, we would not have selected this accommodation and we would agree with many of the comments made by others. General review: We are world-wide travellers and have stayed in many, many hotels, guest houses etc. but we have to say this was a very poor 2 night break. On arrival we encountered our "Host" minus his shoes and socks, who could barely offer a word of greeting or welcome to us - an instant "put off" Courtesy costs nothing, as the saying goes! Before even seeing our room, he told us we must pay there and then, something we are not accustomed to. Actually, had we not paid up front, we probably would not have stayed! We found our room to be not very clean basically. The carpet was dirty and looked in need of a good hoover. The ensuite shower was dirty and dusty along the sides and due to the water not draining properly, meant paddling in water, when showering - something we really hate! The toilet brush holder and bin were dirty and the whole room in need of a good clean. The sheets on the bed however, were clean and this was the only saving grace. Breakfast on the first morning was not too bad and the lady serving us, was pleasant and efficient. Breakfast on the second day however, left much to be desired! More staff were needed to provide proper service to paying customers. Basically, this could be a much better run establishment. Our expectations when staying away from home, are a good welcome, friendly service and above all obvious cleanliness in our accommodation. Sadly this was not the case on this occasion.
