Best rates for a Local Hotel

I attended a wedding at this venue. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was very helpful. However, the bar prices are through the roof, it was over £4 per drink. The couple who's wedding we attended were told if anyone was caught with food or drink not purchased from the hotel, they would be charged at the hotels rates. You are held to ransom with these inflated prices which ruined the event for many including the bride and groom.

Good Points: The hotel is set in fine grounds, the rooms are very elegantly decorated and well maintained. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast excellent. Bad Points: We were not put in the room category that we ordered and paid for. This may have been due to our late arrival and the reception not being properly instructed. After 2 nights it was a surprise to the management that we were actually booked for three night and we suspect that they did not have our original booking at all! It was not possible to transfer to the room we had booked but a reduction in our room rate was offered and accepted. General review: Its a very pleasant hotel to stay in and despite the "booking/room" problems we would recommend it to others

Good Points: Fabulous food, service excellent, top value, impressive accomodation General review: Made to feel very welcome by Andrew who booked us in for the night, his attention throughout, including for our evening meal was excellent. Very friendly and helpul staff. Standard of room was first class, with no complaints - beautiful grounds and surroundings, this hotel was refurbished just over a year ago and provided us with a perfect start to our week long Scotland tour - of 4 other hotels used through the rest of the week, it was the BEST BY FAR! And such good value too!
