After getting a glowing recommendation for this restaurant it was possible the worst meal that I have had with the service to match. The owner / manager was rude and arrogant with no concept of the term "customer" service. The starter of marinated sardines came out cold and looked just like sardines on toast, the 2 sardines looked processed and at £8.00 way over the top in price. The main course of Faux Fillets was very chewy & difficult to eat and lacked any flavour. There were no vegetables served with the steak and the waitress did not ask us if we wanted any vegetables when the order was placed. We did not stay for dessert so cannot comment on the quality of these. We left and went to another restauarnt to have coffee and desserts which were excellent and at least ended the evening on a high note

Have eaten here on several occasions both lunchtime and evening since it has reopened as a French restaurant .... both service and food have been superb every time ... excellent, authentic, rustic French cuisine ... everything fresh and homecooked. Prices very reasonable, unlike many of the restaurants in this area. The fact that this little restaurant is now always busy says it all. My only criticism would be that the lighting in the evening could be improved upon and the decor is not particularly to my taste. Food, service and value for money SUPERB!!!!
