Lovely little place where the rooms are above a well established country pub. Sadly we missed the dinner service because of committments (we were in town for a wedding), but the menu was very impressive with lotd of local produce.
Smart bedrooms with old but characterful furnishings. Very comfy beds all round (a double room and a twin room), with fantastic duvets and pillows. I've recently stayed at a 5* Marriott, and this was probably as comfortable a night as that was. Chic little touches make all the difference in rooms which would otherwise actually be below average - such as lovely new bed linen, throws on the foot of the beds, massive thick bathtowels, a tv with freeview, and so on.
The breakfast was lovely and freshly made as we all appeared downstairs. The staff were also flexible on what time we had to be out by, so that we could primp for the wedding.
The only minor issues of note which didn't bother us, but may bother you is that there is little option for ensuite, but we had no issues with the shared bathroom facilities. And a lot of the rooms are above the bar, which can seen noisy when you are trying to sleep whilst people are drinking up.
Highly recommended, it's a shame we are unlikely to be back in this area, but if I am, you'll find me here at the bar!
