Wish I had read some of the terrible experiences on other review sites before shelling out for a special birthday meal at this hotel. Food rather overpriced, and ambience not what it used to be. Our party ordered the same round of drinks at the bar 3 times and were charged widely varying amounts depending on who served us!

I have known this hotel for many years,but never had the opportunity to have an overnight stay, however, due to a family illness, I stayed here for three nights in late December.
The new owners Allen and Margret are made for this great hotel, food is excellant, their warmth is truley Scottish, I will be returning in January 2008, looking forward to a nice glass of Chardoney
