The Saracens Head Hotel If you are looking for a hotel with a family run feel, and a warm and friendly welcome then this is just the place to stay. The staff are very approachable, and willing to go that extra mile to help make your stay feel special. Set within the stunning scenery that Beddgelert has to offer, overlooking both mountain and river landscapes this is a truly magical setting. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard indeed and is matched by both the service and food on offer. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone staying within the locality.

What an improvement! The saracens Head is very nice now and I would definately come back again. The breakfast was great, fruit, toast, a large variety of cereals and a full english! struggled to walk up Snowdon after that! The rooms are clean and spacious and will look much better after the refurbishment happens. The downstairs has already had a refurbishment and it looks amazing! very warm and welcoming. Also, Staff are lovely! Thanks for making our time in wales special!

Hadn't prebooked before visiting Snowdonia so ended up staying at Saracens Head as lots of B&Bs were full. I wouldn't stay there again as it needs a lot of upgrading to get it into the 21st Century. The breakfast cereal was cheaper than the basics you can buy at supermarkets. The room was basic and most of the furniture was constructed out of what looked like kitchen worktops, i found a plastic tumbler in the bathroom that someone had already used. Oh yeah and we had to rent the TV remote as they have had previous ones stolen!

We would like to thank Ray and Min very very much for there hospitality.The hotel was absoloutly wonderful the service was always so friendly, your staff are a credit to you Ray and Min.While we were there we were told that as of october 2010 they were having a refit.This can only add to the wonderful time we already had. We will be coming back. The room was emmaculate, the food was excellent, and SQUEEK i love you girl. We enjoyed the whole experience.It's very rare in this day and age to be treated as one of the family in a hotel, but that is how Ray and min made us feel. Good luck for the future, and hope to see you all very soon. Carole and Garry simpson (GATESHEAD}

Hi Thankyou for the lovely welcome we had at your hotel. You said you had only moved in the day before and told us all your plans. I have no doubt that in 12 months time there will be a vast difference and we are looking forward to next year to see the changes. Good luck to you both as you have a lot of work to do but I will certainly shout about the Saracens Head Hotel to all our friends and people who we know like to go to Wales for holidays. All the best to you both. Josie and Carl Williams Yorkshire.

On arriving in Beddgelert we were told that new managers had taken over the Saracens Head Hotel, so we decided to book in for the night. The rooms were nothing special but were definately clean, and after talking to Min and Ray and hearing their plans for refurbishment in the following year we will definately be booking in again on our next trip to Beddgelert. Before writing this I looked at the reviews below. This Hotel is definately going to change for the better thanks to Min and Ray.

I am an experienced traveller and when booking accommodation expect one thing to be unquestionable when providing accommodation………. hygiene! The Saracen Hotel is very poor quality accommodation which appeared to have had its last update 50 years ago. For price paid I expected en-suite rooms to find there were not even shower facilities on the first floor. The room was roughly decorated and bed linen dirty. After parking my car and avoiding the dog faeces littering the rear car park I was greeted by the kitchen staff smoking at the rear entrance, this made up my mind not to eat at the restaurant within five minutes of arriving as one staff member dressed as a “chef”, appeared to have four days worth of cooking on his shirt. The bar closed promptly at 11.00 pm even to residents. My worst fears were confirmed at breakfast the following morning when I had to inspect at least five glasses before finding one clean enough to drink from and then finding the cereal milk to be off. Camping on top of Snowdon in January is more recommended than staying at the Saracen Hotel even if you hate the cold.

Beddgelert is certainly worth a visit, however I will not be returning to The Saracens Head Hotel. The rooms were basic and cold and in need of upgrading. The hotel restaurant was over priced for the poor standard of food being delivered (compared with other establishments in the village) and our polite complaints weren't well received.

The hotel is certainly in the centre of one of the nicest places I have visited to date. However, the hotel itself was not very clean and was more like a 'digs' for workmen. The room we were allocated was grubby and had cobwebs on the walls and the inside of the windows. However, the breakfast was nice and the dining room appeared to be very clean. I will visit Beddgelert again but will not say at the Saracens Head.
