this bar has got to be one of the most inviting and pleasant bars in yorkshire. directly next to the railway station always a good sign, down the stairs to really intimate bar area, tastfully decorated and to the bar where there are a fine selection of local ales including that fine thirst quencher copper dragon all ctrussy and tangy. a fine bitburger lager and other guest beers always in tip top condition. there is a convivial atmosphere with some characters in always good for a tale or too and a good laugh. a pooltable and sky television completes the entertaintment. but also bands play saturday evenings. the cellar bar is always a good excuse to get off the train and sink a few noggins before returning to the station platform and pontificating as to who it was who errected the stone dog statue on top of the cellar bar building, arcitechtually fine to look at. one of my favourite bars and places. pay a visit you wont be dissapointed.
