This was a family event and was fortunate to have been held last year on a glorious October day at the lovely Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley. The day was good value for money and was well organised with something to suit everyone. I will certainly be going again this year.

What a fantastic experience! As a branch member I agreed to help "man" a stand selling plants and pumpkins on the day. I roped in my friend, Sue, who helped me with my garden and together we had kept aside surplus plants no longer needed in MY garden. So, equipped with the plants plus an extra person from Sue's buddhist centre we turned up, met other helpers and SOLD as much as we could. It was buzzing with action all around us-music, scarecrows, stands and people with children zooming in and around us. Luckily, tea and snack breaks were built in so we were allowed to wander around ourselves. Clearing up was a joint effort and we still had a few Plants left but what an exhiliarating event.A good fun and fund raising time

If you want to see and do everything pumpkin, plus lots more including live music, children's activities, and stalls galore, the autumn Pumpkin Festival at Royal Victoria Country Parkis hard to beat. The event, which raises funds for the Jubilee Sailing Trust, a charity whose aim is to change lives of people of all physical abilities through the adventure of tall ship sailing, is held on the second Saturday in October. It is an excellent and affordable day out for families. I thoroughly recommend it.

This is just the best free attraction, the piglets are adorable, the cafe has a wide range of really nice food at decent prices, there is a very relaxed atmosphere, and we come here every year at frequent intervals. The shop sells a great range of local cider and preserves, and very nice little gift items, love the knitted pigs! We celebrated my mums 77th birthday here ( coming all the way from Bristol!) and will be celebrating my dads 80th in August.
