Good Points: very quiet and a very modern hotel. we liked the idea of an apartment rather than a hotel room
Bad Points: floors and window blinds could have been much cleaner.also think parking should have been free for guests
General review: apart from the bad points all in all it was quite a pleasant stay

"I couldn't keep a key to the underground car par during my stay, which meant I had to keep going all the way to reception to collect it and give it back."
"Poor ventilation. Fan broken, and lights in bathroom too dim. Staff refused to provide a wake up call."
"Wine - very expensive Take away food - rubbish! Living Room and Bedroom - very cold (no heater or heater not working) Noise from the extractor fan near the bedroom Bad experience with another guest blocking entrance to my car - staff did not or could not help - wasted 1/2hr and was late for a business meeting! Staff could not give helpful directions to the apartment - wasted 1/2 looking for the place"
"Internet is not free, slow elevator, no working desk"
"Very poor online booking system - it wasn't at all clear whether I was booking rooms or apartments and I ended up booking the wrong thing, which had to be rectified afterwards. A pain the butt for everyone."
"lift took ages!! ended up walking the seven flights of stairs twice during stay, and noticed I wasn't the only guest doing this! even though it arrived twice, it was full with staff..."
"one member of staff was a little sarcastic when asked how we got back into the hotel late at night"
"Just one problem. We were in a south facing apartment with a glass wall all down one side. Brilliant cityscape views but it was south facing and we stayed with temperatures soared to 28 to 30 degrees. There was no aircon and it was like living in a greenhouse in a heatwave. We had to keep the curtains closed all day"
"Whilst taking a shower in the morning, the water turned from warm to scalding, causing me to fall over, bruise myself and have extensive scalding marks all over my back/shoulders. I was rather annoyed that I'd prepaid for the room as there is no way I should have been charged fully for the stay. Further to this, when I mentioned this to the manager at checkout, she said, "I'm so sorry. Just the £7.50 car parking to pay then"! Too embarrassed to argue the toss in front of other customers and my girlfriend I duly paid however I've sent two emails of complaint to the hotel since and had absolutely no response. This hotel is not only dangerous but the staff are rude and discourteous. If you want a dangerous, cheap excuse for an apartment / hotel stay here. If you want to be treated like a human being stay elsewhere! I would recommend Crowne Plaza, Manchester City Centre. Have stayed there once before in March, very modern hotel and very polite staff."
"The reception staff are amazingly useless and unhelpful. The receptionist was determined to put us in a basic apartment although we had a booking for the better ones. It took a battle to get her to sort this and trips up and down in the utterly inadequate lift which seemed to serve dozens of apartments over several floors.There seems to be no management either on site or to be contacted. The shower in our en suite which was disgusting with black scum, hairs and a used bar of soap! When we attempted to get reception to sort this we had to phone on an outside phone to the useless receptionist. Eventually a nice cleaner came to clean up. The views from the balcony in our apartment was mainly of waste ground. Otherwise ok but definitely nothing to shout about! It seems to function without proper management or care. An example of this, we were promised to be contacted by the management with an apology for the disgusting shower. Several weeks later we are still waiting for this hence the review!"
"After eventually finding the place, we arrived @ 15:30pm only to be told that our room wasn't available and that we did not have a parking space, even though I had requested one at the time of booking (we eventually parked in the NCP). As we were in a rush to make it to a wedding I informed reception we would check in later on. As it transpired my girlfriend wasn't feeling well and decided that she would leave the wedding reception early. Upon arriving back at the apartment she was asked for a £100 deposit before they would let her into the room. Why was this not asked for at the time of booking? My girlfriend phoned me and I then spoke to reception stating I would be back later and would pay the deposit upon my return, this was refused and I was informed my girlfriend could not gain access until the money was paid. I explained how this would have been paid earlier if they had had my room ready at the time of arrival, I also offered my card details over the phone. "NO" was the answer, we need chip & pin. As you can imagine my girlfriend was becoming rather upset, whilst this discussion was going on and was left sat in reception feeling quite unwell. What great customer service! Eventually I had to leave the wedding reception early and catch a taxi back to the apartment in order to hand over the £100 demanded. The receptionist could only answer in broken english "its company policy" Our whole evening was ruined through no fault of our own. My advice to the owners;
1. Take the £100 up, front why hide it?
2. Don't say you can check in from 3pm when the rooms aren't going to be ready @ 3pm
3. Train your staff in customer service ie don't leave a customer who is feeling sick sat on their own in reception"
