We have just returned from a short break to North Wales and stayed at the Brynllydan Hotel. We have to say that we found all the Staff extremely polite and helpful, and we were greeted with a very warm welcome. We had an evening meal at the hotel on our first night which we both thoroughly enjoyed and found very reasonably priced. Both my Husband and myself would definitely stay at the Brynllydan again if we were visiting the area again (we intend to!) and would recommend to others. My only grumble is that we were unable to stay for longer!

Having recently visited the Brynllydan Hotel, we were more than satisfied with the standard of accommodation, however, I felt that the attitude of the senior staff was unacceptable when I complained about the 'fillet steak'. It would have been normal practise to have replaced my steak, which was nothing less than gristle. The response to my complaint was "I will tell the butcher on Monday" - as far the staff were concerned, there was nothing wrong with the steak. A second complaint was made about the meat and still the attitude was that the steak was fine. Whilst paying the bill at the bar, I overhead from a gentleman who I presumed was the manager that we should have been thrown out. This was reitterated by the managers wife as I left the key at reception the following morning - her words being "you are not welcome here any more". As her husband walked towards the bar, his parting words were that there was nothing wrong with the steak and he would make sure that we would not be made welcome at any other hotels in the area. I would add, that my husband was accused of being verbally aggressive - perhaps so, although it was provoked as no apology, acknowledgement or recompense was offered. A badly handled situation - all we did, was pass comment on the steak. Perhaps a little PR training should be acquired.
