Having had an enjoyable meal some time ago and seeing the negative review of April 2011, I booked for lunch yesterday. I cannot fault the food (full menu, tasty and large portions), the service which was smart, friendly and attentive or the ambience of the bar area. The only thing that let the meal down was the presumably bought in, frozen sweet: home- made would have been better. All told however, we will certainly visit again and would recommend the earlier reviewer to give it another chance.

The service we received was below a standard anyone would be willing to accept. The landlady and her staff were not interseted in our group of 7, after us telling on several occasions that we had a taxi booked. The main cours finally arived after us been there for 1 hour 25 mins, leaving us very short of time to enjoy our food so much so that 2 of us didn't even bother stating. WE USED TO BE REGULARS, NEVER AGIN.
