Oh. Dear.
Last night in Cornwall thought we'd have a bit of a Chinese. To get to the restaurant, you have to walk past the fragrant lavatories...I wish I'd taken off then. Common sense was overridden by hunger, alas.
The food is monstrously expensive; £12 a dish for food drenched in dark soy sauce. It was edible, and cooked well enough, but was adequate at best. At very best. The duck was not properly trimmed and was fatty in the wrong way; the lamb was stringy, the scallops were lacking in number, bulked out by lots of greenery. The rice was bland, the Singapore noodles had no fire to them at all.
Chinese dinner for three with three beers total - no wine - came to £74. I know far superior places where it'd struggle to break fifty quid. I've not paid so much for so much poor food in years.
So why didn't I complain? To avoid a scene with wife & child in tow. Next time, I'll read the menu properly; bad enough that the food was lousy, insult to injury at the cost.
In summary: badly prepared and presented food, outlandish prices. Leartn from my mistakes! Avoid.
