Good Points: easy to find, car park at rear (used road instead - was more convenient) enormous room - high victorian ceilings. Had booked B+B and, as we were getting 7.00 ferry, were able to help ourselves before normal breakfast time
Bad Points: was obviously once a very good hotel - now needs £sssss spent on it to get it up to any semblance of modern hotel. Desperately needs the Hotel Inspector Toilet was loose on wall, carpet threadbare, shower dripped. Lift was ancient No air con, so had to have window open all night - unfortunate as room overlooked Portsmouths' bus station AND the 24 hour Bacon Buttie Cafe - where all the taxi drivers and revellers hang around all night. Probably the worst ever night in a hotel 'cos of this. Co-op supermarket next door was useful as hotel did no food apart from breakfast
General review: Sorry Keppels Head Hotel; you just need a BIG facelift before we would stay again.

Pleasant enough staff, but place needs refurbishment. Peeling wallpaper, bathroom needs regrouting, chandelier needs fixing, no bedside light. TV distorted sound if listened to with reasonable hearing. Place needs a lot of work.
Cleaning seem ok. Breakfast reasonable.
