The decor and ambience of the Elephant is excellent and welcoming. The service given by the bar staff was second to none. The food in the main restaurant was to a very high standard, well seasoned and presented and worth the money. Howeer the weak link in the chain was front of house and service delivery. Head waiter with an argumentative attitude rather than one of trying to resolve challenges. Staff giving courses wrong names thus causing confusion and each of us having starters at differing times. Waiters not knowing how to serve i.e. leaning over people to serve rather than walking to the other side o the table. A waiter putting his fingers INSIDE wine glasses, and, despite asking twice, having to wait 40 minutes for a drink. We gave up in the end after waiting too long to for our final course order to be taken we went back to the bar and resorted to drink. One minor constructive criticism is if you print the menu 0n elephant sized paper could you make the print size a little larger and also list the country of origin of the wines offered? In short, Ambience 9/10 Food 8/10 Service delivery 4/10
