My wife and I spent three nights here in June 2009, we are a well travelled mature couple and found our stay at The Royal Oak faultless.
The pub is a typical old english pub in a tiny but picture postcard village. The staff were all pleasant and polite, choice of food was OK, beer was good and the breakfast excellent.
Most important,on entering our room, first impressions were of space, cleanliness and well supplied hospitality tray, the bathroom was spotless with all good quality condiments supplied including a razor & comb (sealed)
Our usual policy is never to go back to the same place twice but will definately return here. We can highly recomend this pub. If you are into walking, you can leave the car in the car park as several very nice walks are within a few yards.
