I was very disappointed and would not recommend staying at the Bell.
Don't stay here. The Bell has over priced pokey rooms, which are adequately warm and fairly clean, but otherwise lack any character or any charisma or helpful attitude from the owner. If hungry and want any food or snack on arrival, forget it because they don't sell any food outside of normal times for service (not even crisps or nuts from the bar). According to the manager, guests cannot be trusted to not to make a mess in their room if they are given food to take back to their room. How rude!
The Bell provided a barely adequate location to stay overnight to visit a local event in Oxford, but was lacking on many basic requirements as a good and friendly B&B. Stay at the Holiday Inn instead.
Lack of customer care - No help with finding food outside of the usual serving times after arriving hungry. Also, not even asked if we had a nice stay when we left, just given a bill to pay.
Improvements which could be made:
Guest info - Don't expect guests to bring a WIFI laptop to access info; provide a folder of info with details of local places to visit, copy menu and list of TV & radio channels available.
Be friendly and helpful; if a guest wants something you don't provide, suggest an alternative.
Feed the hungry; provide something for the hungry guest who arrives midafternoon between lunch and dinner.
Online booking - did not allow specific room to be booked. ie. any preference on booking room with bath or monsoon shower
