Good Points: Very friendly staff, comfortable bed, convenient location, meals served til 10pm should people be arriving late at night. Bad Points: We were initially shown into a very small, dark room with a not particularly clean bathroom. However, we were moved into a much larger room with a clean but very basic bathroom. Our main complaint was that the room was very noisy - it faced a very busy main road and on the second night of our stay there was a singer performing downstairs who was exceptionally loud and whose performance went on past 1am. Had we been told about this previously we probably would have not stayed there - we had hoped for a peaceful and restful weekend in a beautiful part of the country. We received a booking confirmation that said that check out was at 10.30am but the information in the room said 12 noon. It turned out that the owners are flexible about check out times which is great, but it would have been helpful to know this in advance. General review: This hotel needs further updating and issues like the state of the windows and the decor downstairs need to be addressed. I think that we would consider staying here again as the staff were so friendly, if it weren't so noisy.
