15th of March - Ides of March

15th of March is the 74th day of the year

Ides of March:
The Ides of March have entered our national consciousness, like not a few other ideas, thanks to Shakespeare. The phrase simply denotes the (roughly) middle day of the month of March. It was the resounding words of the soothsayer in the bard’s play Julius Caesar ‘Beware the Ides of March’ that fixed the thing in our mind, and endowed the day with an aura of menace and mystery. Indeed legend around the day would have it that extreme events as regards tides and storms at sea take place on March 15th, though in Roman times it was often marked by a feast and military parade – but for Caesar it did prove to be the day of his assassination.
