22nd of March - World Water Day

22nd of March is the 81st day of the year

World Water Day:
World Water Day is a relatively recent arrival on our calendars, first proposed during the Rio Summit in 1992 and first celebrated, probably an inappropriate term, in 1993. The United Nations coordinates the event annually, with a different theme each year. Sadly and inevitably those themes tend to focus on such matters as the struggle for clean water in the less-developed areas of the globe, water scarcity because of conflicts, and natural disasters linked to water. To bring home the significance and impact of water-related problems around the world on March 22 people in the developed world are asked to consider not using their taps for the whole of the day.
