Key Farm House The house is grade 11* of special & historic interest. Built of local rubble stone mostly rendered, with ham stone dressings circa 1600. Features include Ovolo mould and oak framed mullioned windows with square leaded panes, many with head moulds. The projecting north entrance also has a very old door with small side lights in the returns. Outside at the rear is a large old timber framed Granary Building. Key Farm House provides accommodation with modern facilities whilst retaining its impressive period features; including flagstone and wooden floors, ham stone and cast iron fireplaces and in the east drawing room some fine panelling circa 1700. There are lawned areas around the house which can be enjoyed when the weather permits. There is ample off road parking in the grounds at the rear. The Property is situated about two miles south of Yeovil on the Dorchester road. Yeovil is the commercial centre for the area and has an excellent range of amenities including shops, sports clubs, garages, and the old town of Sherborne with it's Abbey and other amenities is only eight miles distant. We are centrally located for visiting the many National Trust properties in the area. Sporting facilities in the area include horse racing at Wincanton, Exeter, Taunton & Salisbury. Golf at Yeovil, Long Sutton, Sherborne & Windwhistle. Neighbouring course fishing at Stoford & Hillfield; Carp fishing at Pavyotts Mill; Water Sports at nearby Sutton Bingham Reservoir and the Dorset Jurassic Coastline. Breakfast; A cooked breakfast is offered with tea, coffee and fresh orange juice; a selection of cereals, yogurts and freshly prepared fruits, served from 7.30 - 9.30a.m. (other times by arrangement). Smoking is not allowed in the building, but is permitted outside in the garden. Well behaved pets are welcome for a one off charge of £5. All rooms include a colour TV with freeview, tea & coffee making facilities & bottles water; Radio/alarm, hair drier & beverage tray
