From the miles of fabulous golden beaches to the wild moorlands of Exmoor, from tiny villages tucked away in hidden valleys to bustling seaside towns, North Devon has it all. You can follow deep winding lanes through North Devon's beautiful rolling countryside to discover bustling market towns and tranquil villages with picturesque thatched cottages. You could visit Holsworthy and Hatherleigh, delightful bases for the greenest of green holidays - cycling, rambling, horse riding and fishing, or South Molton, once famed for its sheep fairs and now a thriving centre of the arts and antique trades. Exmoor has its own powerful atmosphere, with a history going back millions of years. Its combination of rugged coastline with dramatic cliffs, ancient woodland and expanses of open moorland roamed by wild ponies and deer proves an enduring attraction. It is home to many rare and important species of plants, birds and animals, a treat for all nature lovers.
