Ely Museum, in the Old Bishop's Gaol, is a bright and friendly local history museum. Displays include original prison cells, fossils that can be touched, Roman remains and an archive film of the Fens including punt guns and eel catching. There are special events and exhibitions throughout the year. A children's guide to the galleries, toilets, a stairlift and gift shop make this an ideal destination for all the family.
Ely Museum is open Monday - Saturday from 10.30am to 5.00pm, Sunday 1.00pm to 5.00pm in the summer (Easter to the end of October) and from 10.30am to 4.00pm (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat) and 1.00pm to 4.00pm (Sunday) in the winter.
Admission costs £3.50 for adults or £2.50 concessions, up to 4 accompanied children go free, discount for groups.
