Two 16th century cottages make this a dream of a pub with a rose arch and flowers around the door. During chillier days the open fires make this a cosy retreat. Ever changing blackboard specials make use of local produce like estate game in season and south coast fish, at lunchtime welsh rarebit with bacon and tomatoes or scrambled eggs with smoked salmon make a pleasant change. When it comes to pudding they‚re all there, sticky toffee and date sponge, bread and butter and home made ice cream and sorbet and of course on Sundays traditional rare roast beef and Yorkshire pud make the day.
