More Information

With the tower and Great Hall of the Medieval Castle built by the brother of William the Conqueror located in its grounds, Brecon Castle is an historic coaching inn of great charm and character. It first opened in the 18th C in the former summer residence of Lord Tredegar, becoming the first modern hotel in Wales in 1809. It enjoys the best of both worlds being located in a quiet location in its own extensive gardens and on a prominent hill but also in the centre of town and with beautiful views over Georgian Brecon , the river Usk and up to the Brecon Beacons mountains. It is the only accommodation in Brecon with guaranteed off-road parking for guests.

Privately owned and family run, it combines a friendly atmosphere with efficient service and excellent, locally-sourced food in its Pub. There is a beer garden with wonderful views. All bedrooms in the main building are equipped with private bathroom, flat-screen TV, pay per view films, internet, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, radio and direct dial telephone. WiFi in all public areas. Pets are allowed in the Pub and gardens and in selected bedrooms. Family rooms. Baby monitors in all rooms. Two miles from Cradoc golf course.
