The Strathmore Arms is well known to locals and to many travellers, though its semi remote location and being on a no through road means that you have to be going there for a reason.
The Strathmore Arms is named after the family who own much of the land South of the river Tees in the Upper Teesdale area and whose family home still sits at the end of the road that passes the pub.
The pub is well known for both fine ale and for great food, which is all home made.
There is also accomodation available with both twin and double bedrooms, that offers those looking for a quiet retreat for walking an ideal location, with the benefits of a good hostelry with a licence and good food.
There is a pool table and restaurant area, as well as the bar and outside there is a beer garden.
