Coming up to its 30th birthday, The Four Seasons is Surrey's oldest family-run restaurant, set in the bustling high street of Chobham just outside Woking. Fresh meat and veg arrive daily from the main markets of London and fish is brought in every day from the coast. Begin with pâté with red onion jam and warm petit pains, or Maryland crab cakes with lemon and dill mayonnaise. If you're on for some haute cuisine try the venison steeped with ruby port, brandy and redcurrant sauce, or for something simpler there's a classic skate wing in brown butter with vinegar, capers and parsley. Finish with chargrilled pineapple with caramel and coriander sauce and coconut sorbet. There's also a generous selection of around twenty daily specials, and with a list of over 150 different wines it should be easy to find something to go with all of them.
