Oak River Holiday Homes comprises two cottages; Mews Cottage and Oak River Cottage; and a recently restored 3-storey;Grade 2 listed structure known as the 'The Old Cart Shed'. They are located in a placid setting on the banks of the River Derwent on the edge of the historic sword making town of Shotley Bridge in County Durham.The properties can accommodate from 4 - 6 people and are furnished to a very high; comfortable standard. They are located within 2 minutes walking distance of local shops and amenites (including 2 pubs) but only 10 minutes away from the beautiful North Pennines; an area accorded a place of Outstanding Natural Beauty by the British Tourist Authority.Shotley Bridge is centrally located and the many of the North East's tourist attractions are within a short driving distance. From shopping at the Gateshead Metro centre (one of the largest malls in the UK) to hill walking in the North Pennines to visiting the Beamish Open Air Museum plus much more; are all within easy reach.The cottages are open all year round and as we have only just opened for business; there are plenty of slots available for bookings.
