Enjoying spectacular views across the Caledonian Canal to the mountains of the Ben Nevis range, this characterful little cottage offers a fascinating holiday base. Considered to be several centuries old, with a colourful past, and now lovingly converted, it sits beside the owners' home near the railway line along which steam trains make scenic journeys (in season) to Mallaig on the coast. This outstandingly beautiful area is excellent for outdoor activities and Fort William is just 3 miles away. Glenfinnan, where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard, and the lovely white sandy beaches of Arsaig (also the departure point for boat trips to the isles of Muck, Eigg and Rhum), and ferries to Skye, Mull and Iona are easily accessible. A good hotel serving food is 400 yards, shop 1 mile.

I'll give you my opinion of the human race in a nutshell... their heart's in the right place, but their head is a thoroughly inefficient organ. - Somerset Maugham
