Helen & Andrew welcome you to Hazelwood Guesthouse. The property has been tastefully renovated and restored to provide a home from home atmosphere that is full of original charm and character. Each of the rooms has been individually decorated to provide comfort and feature many facilities to make your stay both relaxed and enjoyable. The property is surrounded by private gardens which you are encouraged to use and enjoy the views over the surrounding mountains and fells. We have a large private car park which will accomodate all our guests cars. Bike storeage is available and we offer drying facilities if boots & waterproofs are "exposed" to occasional inclement Lake District weather. A hearty home cooked traditional breakfast should set you up for the day. We offer a variety of breakfast options complemented by a large choice of cerels and juices, fresh ground coffee or choice of teas. The famous Castle Rigg stone circle is less than a mile away, and many of the north Lakes most popular attractions like Ashness Bridge, Honistor Slate Mines are within easy distance. For the more adventurous the mountains of Skiddaw, Blencathra, Helvelyn and Cat Bells are easily accessable and local maps and guides are available. Situated close to Derwentwater we can advise guest on places to enjoy the views and local scenery. For those looking to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful corner of England there are many of the other lakes in the surrounding area which off a variety of activities from sailing, rowing, windsurfing, canoeing or why not let someone else take the strain and enjoy a cruise on a steamer on any of the larger lakes. The town centre is an easy 10/15 min stroll away where there is a selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, with plenty of choice of eateries catering for tastes from around the world. Hazelwood offers an ideal relaxed and friendly base from which to enjoy all there is to enjoy in the Lake District.
