In the centre of the small, charming town of Rye, the Ship is a modern take on the traditional English inn - a cosy pub, rich in original character, with simple, comfortable en suite rooms above. Originally built in 1592, the Ship Inn is full of beautiful, historic features, including ancient wood beams and original wooden floors. In the heart of the town, at the foot of Mermaid Street, the inn offers real ales and cider from the barrel alongside tasty homemade food, made with fresh local ingredients. Food is freshly cooked to order and the menu mainly consists of traditional English pub dishes, with specials that change daily, from fish and chips to lobster, and from toad in the hole to haunch of venison. The en suite rooms are newly decorated with comfortable beds and good quality linen.
