Henlow Tips
The name Henlow is believed to derive from the old English henna hlaw - a hill frequented by wild birds' and was mentioned in the Domesday Book. The parish Church, dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, dates from the 12th Century and enjoys an ecellent elevated position overlooking the village green. Two local families were aboard THE MAYFLOWER and this has led to close links being forged with Pilgrim Societies in the USA.
