Primrose Hill, with its leafy streets and eye-catching multi-coloured houses, has become famous for its community of A-list celebrity residents. Kate Moss, Sadie Frost, Jude Law, Rhys Ifans and Sienna Miller, leading members of the so-called Primrose Hill Set, have careered across the front pages of the tabloid newspapers due to their uproarious personal lives. More quietly, important politicians, bankers and media types have also moved into this rich and highly fashionable urban village in north London. Located next to Camden Town, to the north of Regent's Park, Primrose Hill is a relatively quiet neighbourhood which has retained a great deal of period charm. It's filled with elegant Victorian homes, exciting designer boutiques, lifestyle shops, tempting delis and a diverse range of cafés, restaurants and pubs. And it's little more than a mile from the bright lights of London's West End. The grassy Primrose Hill itself rises to a height of more than 200 feet, affording splendid views over central London, Belsize Park and Hampstead from its summit. The hill is a favourite spot for picnics and walks, and it hosted one of the capital's most popular November 5 fireworks displays until a ban was imposed for health and safety reasons.
