Stoke Newington, a buzzing, multicultural area of north London, has become very popular among home-buyers, especially young families and well-heeled professionals. To the north of Stoke Newington lies the West Reservoir, a large expanse of water with a modern centre for sailing and watersports. Adjacent to the reservoir is the turreted Castle Climbing Centre. Culture is also celebrated with the annual Stokefest arts festival.
