Hodddesdon is a pleasing town that dates back many centuries in the County of Hertfordshire, close to the River Lee, home to just over twenty thousand people. Famed in centuries past as being an important Coaching stop for weary travellers from London to Cambridge. There are interesting buildings that span history, together with an impressive clock tower. Any chance to explore outside should be taken with Lee Valley Park, as this fabulous open space sprawls for thousands of acres, and whether it's walking through a diverse landscape on the look out for wildlife, cycling, or hopping aboard a canoe, or rowing boat, or for those with leg power there is always the option of powering a Pedalo. Younger visitors will definitely enjoy coming nose to nose with animals of the furry kind at Hayes Hill Farm, or perhaps visit Holyfield Hall Farm which has dairy cows waiting to be milked. Nearby is Rye House which is an evocative 15th Century House waiting to share it's secrets. Or why not accept the invitation to explore the ancient woodland of Epping Forest, a royal woodland which was enjoyed in Tudor and Elizabethan times, a legacy from that era survives today with Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge, built on the order of Henry V111.
