Review of Borehamwood by jason cook on August 28th, 2007
Hi Just thought i would let you know about my book as it touches very much in the topic of the media in our communities Many thanks to Geraldine Blount Of the Hertfordshire Magazine Who in the June addition took the time to read and review my book for the magazine page 164 This is what Geraldine Had to say about it. There’s no room for Jugglers in my Circus JASON Cook, from Borehamwood was Every mother’s nightmare, a bored Teenager with no direction but a lust for money and excitement. His distaste for a Life of hard work, witch his parents had, And a sizeable drug habit led to his Involvement with gangsters, violence, And cocaine-filled days. Ultimately he realised the precarious and meaningless Nature of this life and that his parents Were happy and he was not. During a spell in prison, Jason, who is Dyslexic, began writing and since his Release has admirably gone on to create a New and legitimate life for himself. This book exposes the unglamorous World of someone whose life is dominated By drug addiction and the shady activities That funds such a habit. This book could help fight against drugs and gun crime and gansterisem in our communities. Kind regards Jason Cook Drugs worker) Author of There's No Room For Jugglers In My Circus Available at www.amazon.co.uk www.myspace.com/thejugglerscircus Acting in Clubbing to death and Ten Dead men I’m on 1.14 on the trailer worth a look. http://www.ifilm.com/video/2847137

Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire

Review of Rickmansworth by Kev on March 8th, 2011
Off the M25 but on the London Underground system and 4.5miles from the large town of Watford is the commuter town of Rickmansworth with a population of just 15,000. The town is on the River Colne but also has the Grand Union Canal passing through it. The banks of the canal form part of the Colne Valley Walk, connecting with the Thames at Cowley Lock, taking walkers through moors, wetlands and nature reserves. Most of this trail is suitable for wheelchair users, with flat towpaths forming much of the route. Also ideal for walks is the 100acre Aquadrome public park, with its wealth of grassland, woodland and 3 artificially created lakes that are utilised for water skiing, sailing, fishing and wildlife preservation. Golf is a popular pastime in the area, there is a public golf course and adjacent are the 2 courses of Moor Park Golf Club, which includes a magnificent mansion, currently used as the clubhouse but open to the public too. Historically, the town was mentioned in the Doomsday Book and Rickmansworth Cricket Club is one of the oldest in England, founded in 1787. The town is known locally as “Ricky” and as such, “Ricky Week” is an annual celebration of past and present.

Standon, Hertfordshire

Review of Standon by Janet Cain on December 14th, 2009
Would just like to let you know that Libby is no longer the landlady at the Bell. I was looking for an address for the pub to send a christmas card when I saw the comments. The new landlord is a well liked local guy Nick Payne and his partner Cheryl. They make you more than welcome!! with their hospitality, food and best Full English breakfast for miles, yes there is also an open fire and the best atmosphere in the pub for years.
