Waltham Cross is a Market town positioned in the south eastern reaches of the county of Hertfordshire, home to nearly ten thousand people. It has an interesting history, a legacy of which survives with the magnificent Medieval Cross built in the 13th Century, one of 12 built, of which only three survive. The crosses mark the overnight resting place of Edward I's queen, Eleanor on her final journey to Westminster Abbey, surrounding the cross today, visitors can enjoy a coffee on the Piazza. The town has a vast array of shops to tempt the most discerning shopper, there's the shopping pavilion, or even the Market which is held twice weekly, restaurants, pubs and bars help to make any visit to Waltham Cross a pleasing one.
