Berrynarbor is an idyllic rural coastal village in North Devon West of the Exmoor National Park, surrounded by rich and beautiful pasture, meadow and woodland. The village is a proud multiple winner of the Best Kept Village and Britain In Bloom competitions. 4 country lanes lead into Berrynarbor, converging on the village Square which is the undisputed hub of the community. The mighty tower of St Peter’s church dating from the 12th Century is a focal point and can be seen from all directions. Berrynarbor was a favourite holiday spot of Beatrix Potter and possibly she gained much inspiration for her stories and paintings from the picturesque country lanes and woodland around the village. Berrynarbor has 2 traditional village pubs, both serving excellent food. Miss Muffet’s Tea Room has got to be worth a visit with a name like that, where you can enjoy mouth-watering traditional cream teas and locally grown home cooked food. Accommodation choices include award-winning hotels, self-catering cottages, lovely wooded caravan parks and campsites with fantastic views of the local coast and countryside. Berrynarbor has a free car park and public children’s play area. Watermouth Harbour is a scenic coastal spot within walking distance of Berrynarbor village.
