Amongst golfers this village is possibly the best known in England, located here in North Warwickshire is the village of Wishaw – home to the world famous Belfry Golf Course with its three courses, the Brabazon which is the venue for the Ryder Cup, the PGA National and the Derby, the latter a parkland course for all levels of players. Lying close to the Belfry is the village church, the Church of St Chad’s, a 13th century building in part it has been subsequently added to, for example the clerestory was built around 1600 whilst the tower dates to around 1650 and the vestry in 1886. It may not be known as a popular tourist destination however the village is inexorably linked with the one of the best known golfing destinations in the world and it is centrally placed for those who would like to tour the area. The village is within easy reach of several National Trust properties, activity centres including Drayton Park and the Tamworth Snowdome, with canals and rivers close by for those who prefer a less frenetic way of life and yet easy for access as it lies just off the M6 Toll Road at Junction 2 all set in the picturesque countryside of North Warwickshire.
