Sawrey is a picturesque village skirting the western edge of Lake Windemere, cloaked by soul pleasing countryside in the county of Cumbria. There's a chance to follow in the footsteps of Beatrix Potter with Moss Eccles Tarn, where fishing for brown trout is the order of the day, she enjoyed fishing from a small rowing boat that is now part of an impressive collection at the Steam Boat Museum where visitors have a chance to climb aboard for an unforgettable boat trip on Lake Windermere. After walking and sailing perhaps take a seat in Grizedale Forest Theatre for an enjoyable performance.
