Historical seaside town has everything ever wished for. This stunningly picturesque place encompassing a Harbour and busy fishing port, renowned for it’s shark fishing, narrow winding streets, antique, and Craft shops, Tea Rooms, and impressive 9 arch bridge, and Harbour Quay. The shady smuggling history and birth place of blood thirsty pirate Robert Colliver, born 1660 and baptised in St Martins Church, which hides from the wind under the brow of a hill. Tales of the pirates are regaled in splendour on the seafront. Stand on banjo pier today and watch the fishing boats return. The Contraband often dropped off at Looe Island once home to a Monastic community in Medieval times, has 12th Century cells, boat trips are a way of enjoying this small island. One way to fully absorb the beauty of the coastal and inland walks, is to sojourn one of the many paths and trails. The town ’Heritage Trail’ takes a tour of historical buildings. With an 18 hole golf course, Tennis, bowling and fishing trips, or the delightful Museum housed in a 16th Century former courthouse or Monkey Sanctuary with woodland trails and tree top café, what else could be dreamt of.
