Porthscatho is a charming fishing village on Cornwall’s Roseland Peninsular, where the stunning coastal scenery bewitches unashamedly all who gaze upon it. The beaches will satisfy the most discerning visitor whether lazing on the sand, or exploring in the rock pools for fascinating creatures. Artists can arrange their many brushes to capture the ever changing views on the cliff top walks with wild flowers, or perhaps the 13th Century Church of St Just - In - Roseland will be a stronger pull, the church is set beside water and is the backdrop to exotic shrubs, wild garlic, and bamboo, one inside the church time rewinds to unveil past secrets. Or perhaps the coastal fortress built by Henry the V111 is more for you, the cloverleaf design of St Mawes Castle looks out to sea, and is one of a pair guarding the mouth of the Fal Estuary, the other is Pendennis Castle where it’s Tudor history can be enjoyed, complete with Discovery Centre and the secret underground tunnels of WW11. Or try to resist the enchanting faces at the National Seal Sanctuary, or how about the delights on offer at the Royal Cornwall Museum where wonders from the Neolithic, Bronze Age, and more recent eras are proudly on display.
