St Levan is a pretty village bordered by cliffs, in the past relied on shell fishing as it‘s main industry. The bay is topped by green carpeted cliffs reaching down into the sea, The church is mostly Norman, once inside the beautiful carved bench ends date back to the 14th Century, also within the church is the ancient stone of St Levan, legend has it that it was used by the saint as a seat. There is also granite steps that lead down to a tiny chapel from St Levan’s Well, which is a Medieval Holy Well. There are many things to see close by apart from the spectacular Coastal Walk, such as Minack Theatre, which is an open theatre perched on cliffs above a turquoise glittering sea, or perhaps the interesting Museum of Submarine Telegraphy, this intriguing museum is underground, with exhibits unravelling the past. With Lands End close by a visit to The Doctor Who Exhibition where the props from the television programme together with Cybermen and Daleks are all on show. Or how about a journey back in time to experience the myths and legends of smugglers, witches and the magical world of Merlin and King Arthur.
