Torpoint is a delightful town in South East Cornwall, across the river Tamar from Plymouth. There are many secrets to uncover, such as Anthony Court a majestic early 18th Century Mansion, the house is sumptuously furnished and the Dutch panelled rooms are a delight, with impressive portraits and paintings ensuring your visit is a rewarding one. Step outside and the landscaped gardens cover 25 acres where lawns sweep down to The River. Or perhaps Mount Edgcumbe a red brick Tudor house that has many treasures inside, and the grounds are home to a 400 year old Lime tree. With the ferry journey to Plymouth taking only a few minutes, why not pop over and see the National Marine Aquarium with sharks, seahorses and everything in between, with exhibits on different marine life covering the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Coral Seas. Or there is always St Johns Lake the spot is ideal for water sports or painting that elusive masterpiece. The Antony peninsular is fringed by low cliffs, mudflats and small coves which makes walking, swimming a pleasure, or Buckland Abbey is only 8 miles away. whatever the reason to visit Torpoint, you will be searching for an excuse to stay .
