Hurstpierpoint is an attractive village in the County of Sussex, home to over six thousand people. It's positioned close to the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove, and is surrounded by picturesque countryside. It dates back to Saxon times and has a mix of enchanting buildings that span the chapters of time. Walkers can wander for miles across the stunning South Downs, stop off at Devil's Dyke which sees Para gliders soaring over head, or perhaps Ditchling Beacon will entice a visit to the Hill Fort. Animal lovers will enjoy Wood's Mill Nature Reserve at Henfield which has woodland, lake and interesting wildlife. History enthusiasts can choose from the British Engineerium with intriguing steam engines and turbines, or for a different kind of power climb the steep stairs at West Blatchington Windmill which has an interesting story to share. Artists be warned there is much to capture from the evocative ruins of Bramber Castle which shows the ravages of Civil War, Anne Of Cleves House, or the seaside home of George IV, the Royal Pavilion with it's story book turrets, and sumptuous interiors. If shopping is desired temptation lurks in the Lanes, and Brighton Marina, or for more antiques take a trip to the historic town of Lewes.
